Jae Foundation
The Jae Foundation is raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention—one pair of Cowboy Boots at a time. Jae, a beloved son, brother, and friend of Ryan, tragically took his own life in 2016, shocking everyone who knew him because he was such a positive light. Inspired by the idea that a heartfelt gesture like slowing down to buy Jae a pair of Cowboy Boots (something Jae dearly loved) or had a real conversation about how he was doing, things could have been different, the Foundation was created. The Jae Foundation has provided over 9,000 pairs of Cowboy Boots, aiming to spark bold conversations about mental health. These Jae Boots remind wearers to look up, check in on their loved ones, have honest conversations, and walk with the strength to ask for help when needed.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
