Our Authentic Approach

At Noir Capital, our mission is to provide targeted financial game plans and specialized support for professional coaches and athletes who grind hard, bet big, and want to enjoy their success.

Point blank, careers in professional athletics can be highly reactive and come with ample uncertainty. You’re totally “in-the-moment” while coaching. You have to be on point, reacting to each play and making game-time decisions. While this mindset is necessary for success on the field or court, it’s likely the last strategy you’d want for ensuring your financial wellbeing.

“Our firm understands the nuances and unpredictability that come with working in the sports world. Not only do we understand it; we’ve lived it.”

We know you could be forced to move organizations at a moment’s notice. We also know that when this happens, you could wind up with retirement plans to carry over, surprise tax increases or implications, and duplicated financial management efforts. The problem is, you don’t always see these moves coming, which makes it hard to be proactive. Isn’t it time for some stability and planning?

Very few financial firms have our experience and expertise in providing financial support for people in professional sports careers. That’s exactly why we specialize in working with people like you. We aim to put you in a position where you don’t have to take the next highest-paying job, but instead get to choose the best option for you and your family.

We focus on regularly optimizing and re-tooling your retirement plans, so you’ll always have clarity on when, not if, you’ll retire. We want you to feel confident your assets are aligned with your goals and to know that your endgame is on the horizon.

Personal

The oldest of four children of Panamanian-born parents, Rogel always strived to set an example for his siblings and family. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island, his determination overcame any fears, struggles, or obstacles he faced growing up – and took him as far as walking onto the Division I Football field of Temple University.
Without the help of scouts or recruiters, Rogel made and played for the team for the next three years of his college career all the while completing his degree in Architecture. Following a career in architecture and experience in real estate investment, Rogel realized his passion lied in creating a legacy by building something of his own, while helping others do the same.
In 2008, Rogel joined Northwestern Mutual and built his practice in the heart of Midtown New York. Rogel's success as an advisor came quickly and organically, and he soon became a sought-after speaker and thought leader for his clients, colleagues, and communities.  In 2021, he launched Noir Capital, the firm of choice for play makers and dream chasers, professional coaches, and athletes.
Outside of work, Rogel loves spending time with his family, watching, coaching, and playing sports, and traveling internationally. He can often be found hitting up fine arts and cultural events like Art Basel in Miami. Rogel and his wife Paula make it a top priority to be active in their children’s numerous activities. Rogel enjoys training his girls to be the world’s next tennis stars and is heavily involved in the National Junior Tennis League of Trenton and Girl Scouts of America. He also offers his spare time to speak at high schools and colleges as a mentor to student athletes.

Lending a hand in my community.

As a Brooklyn-born, first generation American from Panamanian-born parents, Rogel has been surrounded by richly cultivated communities since day one.

Proud of his black and Latino roots, Rogel is extremely passionate about education and firmly believes in the power of information. He is committed to using his story, gift of enterprise, and financial savvy to support other Black, Latino, and underserved communities in the areas of wealth, money, and building a legacy. He also offers his spare time to speak at various high schools and colleges as a mentor to student athletes.

Rogel is also committed to supporting diversity in the field of financial planning and is a founding member of the Hispanic and African American Affinity Summits at Northwestern Mutual. These annual Summits support and elevate advisors of color. Of his work in the community, Rogel says, "someone needs to be the catalyst for change."
