Joshua A. Schmalz

Meet my wife, Jen! Jen joined my team in 2022 and serves as my Operations Manager (and all things fun, she says:). She has a B.A. in Cultural Studies from Bethel University, MN. In addition to managing a busy household of 3 boys, Jen served for 21 years in HR prior to her joining my team.

Jen is an encourager, she is creative, she is a developer, she is strong in culture and team building. Jen is driven by her faith and her family. She cares deeply for people and the clients we serve. When asked what drives her, she responded, "I am driven by Jesus. I will do what he calls me to do and do my best to love others the way he loves me. What motivates me the most in this position is building relationships with others and providing care on a practical level to our clients and the ones they love."

When she's not in the office, Jen enjoys staying active outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Jen oversees HR, Marketing, Team Building, Office Management and Client Care.

Meet Andrea Amel!

Andrea is the Associate Financial Representative for our team. She joined the team in August of 2023. Andrea has a BA in Spanish and Education and MS in Education. She taught English in Costa Rica for 1 year and she was a Spanish Teacher for 18 years! Following her successful career as a teacher, she pursued education in Data Science & Analytics and received her certificate in that as well before her arrival at Northwestern Mutual! 

Andrea is organized, intelligent, detail oriented, a great communicator, and a rockstar in pretty much all she puts her hand to! She ensures the paperwork needed for the work we do with our clients is handled with confidentiality, care and precision. Andrea also works as a liaison between our home office and our clients as needed.

When Andrea isn't working, she may be cooking and/or relaxing with her family. Andrea is married to Patrick and they have 2 great kids they enjoy spending time with.
