Causes We Support

We are committed to giving back to our community. Through volunteer work, board participation, and financial support of causes important to us and you, we are always looking for ways to enrich this wonderful community where we live and work. Here are some of the organizations we support:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

Children's Hope Chest

Children’s Hope Chest equips vulnerable children, their families, and communities to escape from the cycle of poverty. At Children's Hope Chest, they empower orphaned and vulnerable children and their communities through relationships that cultivate holistic transformation and sustainability. They connect communities in the U.S. and Canada with communities of orphaned and vulnerable children overseas. In recent years, our team has partnered with the Children’s Hope Chest to fundraise funds for the orphans of Teso.

James Arthur Albert Foundation - Books & Bricks for Belize

Every year our team participates in the Books & Bricks for Belize fundraising event hosted by the James Arthur Albert Foundation. The fundraiser aimed to raise funds to help children in Belize go to high school, build classrooms, and provide school supplies. In recent years, the fundraiser has raised $184,000, and 235 students are now in high school and 15 more at the University of Belize! Funds also helped hire past Valedictorians to tutor scholars since all high schools shifted from in-person classes to sending packets of homework to each student's home due to the pandemic. Additionally, the fundraiser was able to increase the amounts of all scholarships to include all school fees, including graduation fees, since so many parents lost their jobs.

Team Volunteering

Once a quarter, our team will take an afternoon and volunteer at a local organization. Volunteering allows us to spend time as a team and work together in an environment that allows us to impact others within our community. Often, we will choose organizations that are important to individual team members, as well as ones our clients are passionate about. Recent visits have included Meals from the Heartland, Habitat for Humanity, and holiday shopping for the children at Blank Children’s Hospital.
