Our Story
With our clients' interests in mind, Andy Puhrmann and Jeff Byrn founded Clarity Wealth Advisors. Noticing the growing demands of professional and personal lives and the added pressure that puts on making the right financial decisions for people, they saw a huge need to provide a true comprehensive approach with a plan at the center of it all. Putting our clients’ best interests at the center of everything we do and our holistic approach to integrating all aspects of our clients’ financial life is what sets us apart. With nearly 30 years of combined experience in the industry and working together at Northwestern Mutual since 2012, Andy and Jeff have built a growing team of individuals with high integrity, intelligence, and expertise.
We help bring clarity to your vision, values, and goals so you can both grow and protect your wealth.
We have unique perspective and specialized expertise in helping business owners, executives, and their families craft personalized financial plans and strategies that are relevant to the many challenges they face. We also help retirees design thoughtful, efficient, and dependable income and estate plans designed to weather any storm. We are very honored to have built a team to serve multiple generations for clients and help them make sound decisions to reduce financial anxiety and allow them to spend their life living.
Personal
“How you do anything is how you do everything.” This is the motto I learned growing up on my family’s century farm between Germantown and Paullina in the Northwest corner of Iowa, Albeit my brothers would claim me, with some limiting asthma and allergies, I wasn’t the “workhorse” of the crew. Opinions aside, the lessons of hard work, diligence, and doing your chores every day the right way are principles I bring to my advising practice.
I believe I was created to be an advisor with Northwestern Mutual. I get out of bed everyday excited to spend time with hard-working, big-thinking clients, help them know what’s possible, and inspire their best futures out of them.
I'm a 7 on the enneagram scale, so forgive me if your appointment finishes up early, and if small-talk takes up half of it. Also, have comfort in the fact my team at home and at the office keep me grounded and in my lane.
I love to get in early, see clients of all ages during the day, and get home to spend time with my family. I met my wife, Bailey at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake—once a Beaver always a Beaver—and together we have 3 kids. 2 daughters, Macyn and Saylor, and 1 son, Camden.

Professional
I have been a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual since 2011. Our mission is to develop enduring relationships with clients by providing expert guidance for a lifetime of financial security. I work with clients to identify their financial security needs and then focus on solutions that can help make those financial goals a reality. I help find the right solutions for personal, family or business needs.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
