Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15. ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual has donated more than $20 million to support ALSF. Locally, the NYC Park Avenue office is proud to donate money that will go toward changing the lives of children with cancer.
Angel Compass Network for Charity

Founded by Jeffrey Buffum and the Northwestern Mutual Park Avenue office, Angel Compass aims to bring together professionals who want to give back to their community. Members of Angel Compass coordinate fundraising and volunteer events to support smaller, local children’s charities who otherwise might be overlooked.
Sunrise Day Camps

The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide. This mission is accomplished through the creation of Sunrise Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge. Sunrise Day Camps are open to children ages 3 ½–16 who are in active or follow-up treatment for cancer.
Ronald McDonald House

Hosting annual breakfasts at a local Ronald McDonald house our team in the Farmingdale, Long Island District Office have the opportunity to experience first-hand the challenges that cancer brings to families and how even sharing a meal can make a difference. RMHC provides vital resources and compassionate care to children and their families being served by leading hospitals worldwide.
Hetrick-Martin Institute
The Hetrick-Martin Institute is the oldest LGBTQIA+ youth-serving organization in the nation for all minority communities. Through a comprehensive package of direct services and referrals, Hetrick-Martin seeks to foster healthy youth development. Hetrick-Martin’s staff promotes excellence in the delivery of youth services and uses its expertise to create innovative programs that other organizations may use as models.
