Each year since 2022, Northwestern Mutual Eastern Iowa has sponsored a room with Special Spaces to create a dream bedroom makeover for a child with cancer who is within one year of treatment. The Dubuque Office volunteers a day a to help remodel, decorate, and present the bedroom to the child and their family.
University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital
A $500,000 promise fund has been made to the hospital to support the Northwestern Mutual Eastern Iowa Pediatric Oncology Nursing Support Fund and the Northwestern Mutual Eastern Iowa Pediatric Oncology Research Fund. Together the two funds will help progress toward finding a cure for pediatric cancers and investing in the people that are doing the day in and day out care of patients.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15. ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual has donated more than $20 million to support ALSF. Locally, our Dubuque and Manchester offices are proud to host lemonade stands to help raise money that will go toward changing the lives of children with cancer.
