Professional

I graduated from Truman State University in 2014 and went on to work as a District Manager for a small, local management company. During this time, I became a client of Northwestern Mutual. I have always had a strong calling to help others and have a tangible impact in people’s lives, but through Northwestern Mutual I realized I am truly passionate about, and drawn to, helping families and individuals achieve their versions of financial success through:

  • Strategically saving the right amount of money to accumulate enough for their goals
  • Planning with the end in mind and considering how the money they accumulate will unwind (be distributed) in the future
  • Protecting their family and creating a lasting legacy

Since starting in 2015, I have had the great privilege of helping hundreds of families take meaningful action towards their goals. I am continuously growing my knowledge to be the best I can be for my clients. I currently hold CLU and ChFC designations, and Series 6 & 63 licenses.

I work best with hardworking people who care about their families and their futures. I specialize in working with engineers, IT professionals, and business professionals. Specifically, I work with many people at Centene, MasterCard, Boeing, and Express Scripts.

Licenses & Designations

Wills holds the CLU® and ChFC® designations, as well as his Series 6 & 63 licenses.

The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation has long been recognized as the fundamental and foremost educational credential for life insurance professionals. Since 1927, more than 94,000 individuals have earned their CLU®, helping them build a successful life insurance practice by providing clients with knowledgeable and ethical advice. For financial representatives, field management, home office personnel, and others involved in providing life insurance products to the public, the CLU® designation symbolizes continuing growth and commitment to professionalism.

A Chartered Financial Consultant is a professional designation representing the completion of a comprehensive course consisting of financial education, examinations, and practical experience. As a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Wills is knowledgeable in financial matters and has the ability to provide sound advice.  Wills completed courses designed to include a range of financial planning duties and responsibilities. This includes the practical application of the skills learned in real-life scenarios.

Personal

I was born and raised right here in St. Louis, and graduated from Webster Groves High School. Throughout high school I worked as a lifeguard, Professional Floral Distribution Expert (what most might call a flower delivery person), and a “secret shopper” for QuickTrip. I went on to graduate from Truman State University with a Business degree.

In 2019, I married my wife, Annie, and together we have our son, Scotty, and two dogs, Jax and Fella. I love to be outside golfing (not well), walking the dogs, hiking and fishing, or swimming laps. My wife and I occasionally have a solid Netflix binge, but I also love to listen to development or classic fiction books.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours. Wills continually participates in multiple fundraising efforts per year such as "Cocktails for a Cure" and "Kick-Out Cancer Kickball Tournament".

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
