Personal

I grew up in the St. Louis area and attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.  After meeting my husband Dave in college, I moved to the Chicagoland area in 2001.  South Elgin has been home to us ever since.  We stay busy with our two boys Matthew and Alex, along with our Golden Retriever Ripley!

In my spare time I love to golf, travel to new places, and entertain at our home.  I also love to attend sporting events, although I live in the Chicago suburbs, I remain a very loyal St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.  As a family we do our best to enjoy the outdoors as often as we can throughout the year.

Professional

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Northwestern Mutual at a career fair while I was still in college.  As a way to test the waters I applied and accepted the internship opportunity with Northwestern Mutual in 1998.  After completing the internship, I knew this was the career for me and I accepted the full-time position in our Edwardsville office.  Within 2 years, I was married and transferred up to the Chicago suburbs where Dave and I have been ever since.

The most rewarding thing I have found after all these years is the impact that I have in my client's financial futures.  The relationships I have built with clients over the years is one of the things I cherish most about what we do.  I really enjoy working with families who want to plan for whatever the future may hold for them, especially those who are 15 years or less from retirement and want to make sure their financial plan is secure.  Most recently I have made it my mission to work hard to connect with women business owners, as I feel this is an underserved market and I can connect well with them.  I am looking forward to continuing this important work for many years to come through all the changes and challenges we face from year to year.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
