Tim grew up in Port Orchard, a suburb of Seattle, before moving on to attend the University of Idaho on a full athletic scholarship to play Division 1A football for the Vandals. Tim lettered 3 years, played defensive back and was the team’s punt returner. His athletic career highlight was beating his rival and childhood favorite team, Washington State University of the Pac-10, two years in a row in 1999 and 2000.
Tim was driven to a career in financial planning by a desire to help people. He believes that a lack of sound financial planning knowledge is an epidemic. Without access to a trustworthy professional and sound strategies, good people get lost trying to navigate through all the noise. Putting the needs of clients ahead of his own and partnering with people to build synergistic long-term relationships is Tim’s top priority. Tim works with his clients to implement simple strategies now that will allow them to be tax-efficient years down the line.
Tim currently resides in Seal Beach with his daughter, Charli, his sons, Ryan and Anthony, and his wife Dani, who is a pediatric ICU nurse at CHOC. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with them and being involved with his kids’ activities, such as coaching their sports teams and volunteering at Saint Hedwig School. He also stays active through yoga and participating in triathlons. Tim is an active member of Bay Shore Community church in Belmont Shore and the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach.

As a member of the Northwestern Mutual Philanthropy Committee, Tim is passionate about bringing the community together through volunteerism, local activities, and family services.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
Justin Rudd
Justin Rudd and his Community Action Team are a civic minded, not for profit organization, that serves the Long Beach area and surrounding communities. A few of Tim's favorite events include the Beach Clean-Up, Father/Daughter Dance, and Long Beach Turkey Trot.
Bay Shore Church
At Bay Shore Church, Tim serves as the chair of the Skyforest Commission, whose role is to foster community among church members through annual events. He also serves on the church's Board of Stewards.
BNI Playmakers
Tim is an active member of the BNI Playmakers group in Long Beach. Business Network International is an American franchised networking organization, founded by Ivan Misner in 1985. Currently BNI has over 270,000+ members in 9,500+ chapters in over 74 countries worldwide. Members meet weekly to discuss business and support each others businesses
