About me

I relocated from New Jersey to Florida in 1977 to attend The University of South Florida. GO BULLS! I've lived and worked in the Tampa Bay area since graduation in 1979.

I enjoy the beautiful weather here in Florida by jogging, cycling and being outside as much as possible. Listening to music is also relaxing to me. I have a very eclectic taste in music with the advent of digital streaming.

As a kid, second of four boys, I always seemed to be the chosen one to help my dad build and repair things around the house. To this day, I love the creative and tactical feel of working with my hands. So much so that I've become the adjunct handyman for friends and family.

Designations and Certifications

CFP® - CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional - Tom earned in 1991 is one of the most recognized financial planning marks in the world. CFP® certification identifies to the public those individuals who have met rigorous professional standards and have agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism, and diligence when dealing with clients. The certification differs from an educational designation or state license in that it is based upon requirements that have been determined by extensive job analyses of actual practitioners in the field, and therefore, continue to evolve with the profession. The CFP® certification prepares the financial services professional for a career-long commitment to meeting the ever-changing financial needs of clients

ChFC® - CHARTERED FINANCIAL CONSULTANT designation was introduced by the American College of Financial Services in 1982. It requires the same core curriculum needed for the CFP®, plus additional coursework that further hones an applicant’s skills as a professional wealth manager. To become a ChFC®, a candidate needs to pass a total of eight courses covering all facets of financial planning. In addition, they need to have worked full-time for three of the last five years in a related field. An undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited institution counts toward one year of business experience.

CLU® - CHARTERED LIFE UNDERWRITER is a financial professional with extensive knowledge of life insurance. In most states, a CLU® designation exempts you from pre-licensing education and underwriting certification requirements. This means a CLU® has obtained a level of life insurance expertise that exceeds basic life insurance underwriting requirements.

CLTC® CERTIFICATION FOR LONG TERM CARE educates professionals in the fields of insurance, financial services, law and accounting about the severe consequences a need for care over an extended period of years would have, not on their client, but on the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of those the client loves. The goal is to give these professionals the proper skill set to discuss those consequences, offer a plan to mitigate them, and when appropriate, recommend long-term care insurance as a funding source for that plan.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Each year I volunteer at our local fundraising event, the Lemon Drop. This event supports both Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and the 1Voice Foundation - which operates the first school in America specifically for children with cancer.

Lemon Drop the Mic

I volunteer each year at the Northwestern Mutual Greater Tampa Bay's annual fundraiser for pediatric cancer research and support. We've raised over $1 million dollars locally to support Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and the 1Voice Foundation.

Salvation Army

Over the holidays, I joined my Northwestern Mutual St. Petersburg colleagues for a volunteer day at Salvation Army. We collected presents for children in need and helped with their annual toy drive.
