I believe the starting point of any financial conversation should be with you—your life, your family, your priorities, and your goals. I'll listen to what's important to you and design a financial plan from multiple strategies specifically designed to help get you where you want to be.
Most people think all financial planners are "certified," but this isn't true. CFP Professionals represent the highest level of competency, ethics, and professionalism in the industry. They are held to a fiduciary standard of care, which means they are required to act in your best interest. Only those who completed the requirements from the CFP Board can use the coveted initials "CFP" after their name.
A CFP® must complete a comprehensive curriculum learning about the financial planning process, risk management, investments, retirement planning, tax planning and estate planning.
After learning the full curriculum, they must pass an exam that tests their knowledge of the whole curriculum and their ability to apply that knowledge to real-life situations.
A CFP® Professional must have at least 6,000 hours of experience related to financial planning services, either teaching or working directly with clients.
CFP® Professionals are held to the highest Standards of Professional Conduct, upholding the values of Integrity, Objectivity, Competence, Fairness, Confidentiality, Professionalism and Diligence.
