Meet Mike

I grew up in a family with a deep-rooted business legacy. My family owns a nursery business that has thrived for over 130 years.
My parents' work ethic left a lasting impression and example for me to follow, showing me that integrity, dedication, and hard work will be rewarded. It gave them control over their schedule and the freedom to enjoy their life. These values inspire me to work hard, be my best, and make an impact in the community even beyond my work.

As with many small business owners, their focus was on growing their business and serving as pillars in the community. Therefore, developing a retirement or business succession plan for themselves took a back seat to other passions. Their values helped me understand the importance of working with a financial professional to protect and grow what we work so hard for.

These values and experiences instilled in me the importance of working with a good financial advisor, and setting up diversified investments, working diligently, and practicing responsible spending.

Having grown up in a small business, I share a profound connection with small business owners. I am inspired by their principles of dedication, hard work, and pride in their craft. I carry these principles into my practice as a financial advisor, recognizing the impact of expertise and dedicated service.

My past experiences as a minister honed my listening skills and my ability to connect with people on a profound level. I have found immense fulfillment in making a lasting impact on people's lives, and I carry the values of Christianity into my work today.

However, my journey didn't stop there. My time working in finance at the small business and corporate level further refined my leadership skills. It also underscored the importance of aligning business values with personal values. It became evident that not all businesses operate on the same principles, and that doing business in a way that supports my personal values is important to me and to my clients.

This realization rekindled my desire to return to my family's small business roots and start my own venture. It was during this search for the perfect fit that I discovered Northwestern Mutual. Driven by a profound longing to reconnect with my family's entrepreneurial spirit, I embarked on my own entrepreneurial journey, knowing that I had found the perfect partner.

Today, I proudly own and manage a national financial practice with clients across more than 20 states. My passion lies in assisting individuals, multi-generational families, and business owners in achieving their financial goals through consultative financial planning, all aimed at providing simplicity, clarity, security, and confidence to my clients for their financial lives.
