Personal

In order to enter a successful financial planning partnership, we have to get to know you and what's most important to you and your family. It's only fair, if we share a little about us.

Matt, Victoria and their son Easton reside in Livermore, and they truly enjoy the community they've built together. Many of their closest friends have rooted themselves in the area and it's been really fun to raise families together. Matt and Victoria met volunteering through their church, Cornerstone Fellowship, and have both spent time working with middle school and high school students over the years. Victoria recently left her role teaching 1st grade to be at home with Easton and they feel blessed to have this opportunity for more time at home with their son.

Matt grew up in San Ramon where he graduated from California HS. Victoria is a native of Santa Rosa and they really enjoy visiting Sonoma County. When not hanging with friends and family, they spend their time hiking, camping, visiting the mountains and beaches of California. Matt enjoys golfing and right now Victoria really enjoys the driving range.

Matt graduated from Cornell University in 2010. During his time in upstate New York, Matt played varsity baseball and served as a team captain his senior year. Prior to playing second base for the Big Red, Matt was named the Ohlone College Male Student-Athlete of the Year and to the All-America team in 2008.

It's such a privilege to partner with you on this journey and offer support and mentorship as we strive for more enriched lives personally, professionally and financially.

Professional

Matt Langseth joined Northwestern Mutual in the fall of 2020. In addition to running his own financial planning practice he also serves as a Growth & Development Director for the Walnut Creek office leading a team of financial representatives. He holds his Series 7 and 63 Finra registrations and Life and Health licensing to offer a comprehensive approach to planning. He works together with clients to manage investment strategies, make sense of defensive planning and implement tax-efficient strategies. Matt and his team work to understand your story as it relates to money and planning so that they can offer advice that is meaningful.

Like many, the financial meltdown in the mid-2000s and some of the hardships that followed shaped how Matt thought and felt about money. One of the best things he can offer clients is an understanding of how much their emotions play into financial decisions. His mission is to learn how your upbringing and life experiences have impacted your ability to save and think about your financial planning holistically.

Matt and Victoria welcomed their son Easton in May of 2023, reinforcing Matt's financial planning conviction. Never has protecting his family and investing in their future felt more relevant and important. Now is Matt's chance to help his clients achieve that same level of financial security.

After 10 years in Sports Marketing including six years with the Oakland Athletics, Matt brings his client services background and consultative approach to financial services and planning. Matt is pursuing additional financial education.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
