Personal
Matt has led an accomplished life that he attributes to his core beliefs in self-discipline and sacrifice to reach a greater goal. In his formative years, he experienced success as a wrestler – he was a four-time Greco Roman national champion, broke the national high school all time win record, and continued on into college where he became a Division 1 All-American.
Matt’s experiences as a wrestler and athlete shaped him into who he is now, both professionally and personally. His experiences in overcoming adversity and facing challenges with an indomitable will to succeed have translated into how he runs his business, his commitment to his clients, and who he is in his community and family.
He resides in Easton, NY with his wife Allyson and four kids; Micah, Nathan, Josiah, and Lydia. He is an avid outdoorsman, a passion founded not only in his love of nature - but also the lifelong experiences of comradery that come with hunting, fishing and camping.
Lending a hand in my community.
Matt believes in the power of an individual to impact the community, as well as the power of community to impact the individual. Who he became was shaped by where he came from, and thus he values giving back and having a voice in his community. He is part of leadership for the local Lions Club, an organization based on the idea of “we care, and we do something about it”. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Childhood cancer is a cause that’s important to me, my team, and our colleagues at Northwestern Mutual. It’s the leading cause of death by disease in kids ages 1 to 19 in the United States. We participate in fundraising events throughout the year, including the Annual Lemon Tournament, and hold lemonade stands in the community to help raise money for ALSF.

Cambridge Lions Club
Lions Club has been serving communities for over a century. Lions meet needs of local communities and the world everyday because they share a core belief to serve. Whether it is fighting blindness, aiding the elderly, feeding the hungry or caring for the environment, Lions are here to help. I am proud to serve in the global leader for humanitarian service.
Board UPenn Grapplers Club
The Grapples Club is an alumni association comprised of UPenn wrestling alumni and friends. The goal of the club is to raise money for the current and future of the UPenn wrestling program. I am an alumni of UPenn's wrestling program, where I was a four-time National Qualifier and NCAA All-American. It is important to me to continue to aid in the growth of an athletic program that gave so much to me.
President Upper Hudson River Valley QDMA
I have proudly served as the Upper Hudson River Valley QDMA's President. QDMA's goal is to educate members and deer hunter's all over the region on the quality of deer management. The country as a whole has only become more aware of QDMA's mission resulting in healthier deer populations.
Head Youth Wrestling Coach for Schuylerville/Greenwich Schools
The sport of wrestling taught me endless life values. As an accomplished wrestler, I make it a priority to give back to the sport that shaped me into who I am. I started a youth wrestling club in my hometown area to expose local kids to the great sport of wrestling. Through this I hope to give them a healthy outlet for activity and help them understand the value the sport holds to ones character.
Mentor for Castleton University's UMentor Program
The UMentor Program origniated at my alma mater, The University of Pennsylvania. The goal of the program is to connect current UPenn wrestlers with alumni in their related field of study in the hopes of connecting them with other professionals for life after college athletics. The program has now expanded to other universities and programs. I serve as a mentor to Castleton University wrestlers and help prepare them for the next chapter in life.
American Cancer Society Men Wear Pink
Matt has spent the past two Octobers raising money for the American Cancer Society of the Capital Region. All money raised in the month of October is donated to local cancer patients for assistance during and after treatment. The money raised goes to housing at the hope lodge, rides to and from treatment, wigs, and much more.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
