Lorne Adrain, CLU® earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1983 and a BS from the University of Rhode Island in 1976. As a Financial Representative with The Northwestern Mutual since 1993, Lorne runs an insurance and estate analysis practice.

Other experience includes:

  • Five years as an executive at AT&T and ten years assisting firms with startup plans, turnaround strategies and equity financings.
  • He is the founder of the initiative to establish National Neighborhood Day and he is author of 4 books.
  • He is Co-Founder and served as Chairman of Social Venture Partners Rhode Island, engaging successful entrepreneurs in innovative community initiatives.
  • He served as Founder and Chairman of RACE for Performance Excellence which initiated and sponsored the Rhode Island State Quality Awards program and is on the Board of the Business Innovation Factory.
  • He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association, and serves on the Board of Big Picture Schools, was a founding Director of the Beacon Mutual Insurance Company, served as Chairman of Rhode Island Special Olympics,
  • President of the University of Rhode Island Alumni Association, Chairman of the Rhode Island Foundation Professional Advisory Council, and as a leading volunteer for numerous other community needs.
  • Lorne was selected by Northwestern Mutual as Most Exceptional Volunteer in the USA in 1998 and was honored again with its National Agent Community Service Award in 2006, by the Rhode Island Foundation for its Inspiring Partner Award in 2005, by Leadership Rhode Island for its David E.

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
