Professional

During his senior year at John Caroll University while pursuing a degree in Finance, Ken was recruited for a position at Northwestern Mutual. After graduation in 2004, Ken joined as a Financial Representative focused on investment and insurance needs. Soon after, he was appointed to Field Director, a position in which he oversaw the development and training of new financial representatives and interns, along with running his own practice. During his time with Northwestern Mutual, Ken helped to open the Cranberry office in 2012. Now the Managing Director of the Cranberry Office, Ken oversees the whole office while helping to recruit, retain and share his knowledge and provide guidance about the investment and insurance industry.

Ken has his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, along with his Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC) designation, making him one of few across that country who has expertise in this field.  He is passionate about Special Needs Planning as his brother, Nick, has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). This planning hits home with him personally and he wants to share his experiences and knowledge with others.

Ken won both the Bronze Award and the Pacesetter 40 Award during his first few years at Northwestern Mutual. In 2012 and 2015, Ken was awarded #1 Field Director in his category for Eastern Regional year (Dec.-Nov.). He was also named #2 Field Director in his category companywide for the 2012 calendar year.

In his downtime, Ken enjoys spending time with his family, watching Pittsburgh sports and umpiring youth baseball.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)

Ken volunteers for many events held each year by the MDA. The main event Ken has helped raise money for is the annual Lock-Up Event, with proceeds benefitting the annual Labor Day Telethon. The money goes to sending kids to MDA Summer Camp, medical equipment repairs, therapy consultations, or even flu shots. Each year Ken has raised close to $2000 for this great cause.

Make-A-Wish Foundation

Ken is involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania as a wish grantor. Ken meets with families and the wish kids to help determine what they'd like their wish to be. By acting as a liaison between Make-A-Wish and families, he helps makes these wishes come to life for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Some of the wishes he has helped grant are a trip to Disney World, a laptop computer and desk, an outdoor play set and jungle gym, and a trip to a Lakers game to meet Kobe Bryant. Ken has a passion for this because his brother, Nick, had a wish granted for him in the past, which was a new room and deck on the back of their house.

Cranberry Township Rotary Club

Ken volunteers his time with the rotary club as the club's treasurer. The club helps to promote community in Cranberry Township while also holding events and fundraisers because they "simply believe in helping others".

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
