I started my journey to become a financial representative at the end of 2024. I have always sought after higher levels of financial literacy, but never truly knew how to obtain it or if I even could. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in journalism and marketing so I figured any financial education I do come across would have to be through my own research and studies.
When I came to NM, there was a shift in my purpose. Initially, like most people, I had my concerns with being considered to be a salesman, or someone who represents an insurance company. I just didn't know if it would be the right fit. As time moved along, I realized how misplaced those concerns were.
Being a representative is not the same thing as being a salesman. This career that I have chosen is about educating people on the most efficient and effective financial strategies out there and then inspiring them to implement those strategies into their daily financial habits. This career is about helping people increase their financial literacy, and to allow them to make informed decisions that can change the trajectory of their lives. The shift for me was from seeking to increase my own financial literacy, to helping someone else with theirs. The joy of it all is that I still learn along the way.
