Meet Julie

Hello - I'm so glad you're here! My name is Julie Schmidt. My title is "financial advisor," but I like to say I am a money teacher. I spent the first 17 years of my career teaching elementary school, and now am thrilled to be educating my clients about financial matters. Leaving teaching was hard, but the journey to get to where I am now has been life-changing in the best way.  Serving women and families is an incredible source of joy for me!

My Mission

My mission is to serve my clients with honesty, respect, and selflessness, and to empower the women, business owners, medical professionals and families that I serve to dream big and plan for success.

I take a lot of pride in my approach with my clients. I am centered on what is most important to you, and do my best to listen and guide our work together without judgement or assumptions. All questions are fair game. Being open and honest is a hallmark of the relationships I cultivate, both in my professional and personal life. The more open we can be in the planning process, the closer we can get you to your dreams!

When I am not working, you can find me outdoors, volunteering, or in my kitchen cooking and baking. I am a proud wife and mother too! My husband Stephen and I are raising three great kids - ages 15, 13 and 11. We love each other, our hobby farm, great food and traveling! Adventure is our middle name.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
