Personal
Joe was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and through his own personal policies has been involved with Northwestern Mutual since 1992 when his grandmother started a juvenile policy with the company. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Joe studied in the Lubar School of Business, with a degree in Management Information Systems. Married in 2008 to his wonderful wife Karen, Joe continued their personal planning with his family's representative, James Grogan. This planning, throughout most of his life with Northwestern Mutual, led its way to fostering his career change starting in 2012.
Joe and Karen enjoy their free time with their 2 children, Jacob and Bella. On weekends they are traveling around supporting Bella's Irish Dance Competitions (called Feiseanna, or Feis). They also have a Golden Retriever named Zaylie who keeps them company on their weekend adventures around the state in the summer. Joe is active in golf, bowling, tennis, and looks forward to continuing his participation in cycling for the National MS Society's Best Dam Bike Ride.
Through the National MS Society and through the Greater Milwaukee Agency, Joe is also an active supporter in the community.

Lending a hand in my community
Joe resides in New Berlin, Wisconsin with his wife Karen and their 2 children Bella and Jacob. Joe and Karen are members of First United Methodist Church in West Allis, Wisconsin, and is involved in multiple areas of the community including the following organizations:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society
Joe's father was diagnosed with MS when he was a teenager and since has been participating in raising awareness for the disease. The 2019 National MS Best Dam Bike Ride was Joe's 10th ride, totaling over $25,000 raised via fundraising. His team, Happy Feet raised $50,000+ in each of the last 9 years. Joe looks forward to this annual event as not only a physical challenge, but also to top the previous years fundraising efforts.
How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
