Who I am
I am a Financial Advisor who enjoys addressing peoples' financial goals and concerns. My special interest is in retirement planning which focuses on maximizing income in retirement while passing on family wealth.
After college and graduate school, I spent five years in the asset management department of CNA Insurance in Chicago before joining the Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company.
My studies and experience prepared me to discuss retirement income alternatives as well as financing long-term care illness.
I have earned the National Quality Award from the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and am a member of Northwestern Mutual Chicagoland with offices in downtown Chicago, Schaumburg, Downers Grove and Naperville.
My wife Linda and I live in Oak Park where we raised our son, Hank. Outside of my work I love to travel, read and play pickleball.
My Education and Accreditations
Aside from holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Beloit College, I also have a Master's Degree in Economics from University of Illinois, Gies College of Business in Champaign/Urbana.
Designations
I have earned the ChFC®, CLU® and CASL® designations from the American College.

The ChFC® program focuses on the organized way to collect and analyze information on a client's financial situation; to help clients identify and establish specific financial goals and to formulate solutions to help meet those goals. Holders of the CASL® designation have completed five in-depth courses with comprehensive exams covering such subjects as retirement planning, social gerontology, health and long-term care financing, investments and estate planning.
How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
