Meet Jeff
Professional
Jeff Daw grew up in Hamilton, Ontario. He was raised by his father, a Certified Management Accountant (CMA®), and mother, an administrative assistant for a local college who led multiple successful fundraising campaigns during her career. Both taught him the value of budgeting and saving early on, and helped him develop the skills, habits, and attitudes needed to achieve financial security later in life.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Jeff embarked on a successful decade-long hockey career—which included one National Hockey League game for the Colorado Avalanche during the 2001–02 NHL season.
Upon his retirement from sports, he joined Northwestern Mutual—first, as a financial advisor in 2006, and later as the Managing Director of Northwestern Mutual Providence in 2011.
Jeff is committed to helping people design financial plans around their priorities, so they can reach their goals, get closer to their dreams, and protect everything they’ve worked so hard for.
His favorite part of the job is helping his clients gain greater clarity about their finances without judgement or pressure, as well as greater peace of mind knowing their financial security plan is in order.
Personal
Jeff lives with his fiancé, Nikki, a British expat, and their rescue dog, Luna. They reside in Newport, Rhode Island.
Jeff has two daughters: Winona, who works as a Manufacturing Associate in North Carolina; and Lindsey, a student at the University of New Hampshire.
Jeff is a foodie who is passionate about experiencing as much of the world as possible through travel. He enjoys music, cooking, golf, watching his favorite Toronto sports teams - especially the Toronto Raptors - and spending time with Nikki and his girls.
Lending a hand in his community.
Jeff is motivated by a desire to give back wherever possible. He has been a mentor with Mentor Rhode Island, and a competitor in their annual Dancing With The Stars of Mentoring event, which Northwestern Mutual Providence sponsors.
Jeff is currently a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island, and a sponsor for The Gala PVD, an event to benefit Open Door Health, an LGBTQ health clinic offering safe, confidential, and inclusive health care for all.
As part of Northwestern Mutual, Jeff is proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations the Northwestern Mutual Providence office partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

Beads of Courage

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
