Meet Irina McGrath (she/her)
It began with a required personal finance class.
This part of my immigration process when I came to the U.S. became an unexpected turning point for a woman raised in traditional Armenian culture.
Moving to America by myself was a challenging experience that required me to adapt to a new environment, learn a new language, and manage my personal finances effectively. Initially, the task of managing my finances seemed daunting, and I felt anxious because I didn’t feel financially literate. I decided to take action and signed up for a personal finance class, and it was then that I discovered my passion for financial planning and the stock market.
Now, as a financial advisor, I share my expertise, educate, and empower my clients. Having a financial plan allows you to feel confident in your finances. It’s powerful knowing my family and I are on the right trajectory, and I want as many individuals and families as possible to feel the same. I love building plans that allow my clients and friends to live their dreams and help them get beyond what is holding them back. I believe financial planning is a science AND an art.
As an immigrant, a mother, a small business owner, and someone with diverse career experiences, I understand the unique challenges, responsibilities, and questions that come with each of those roles and love working with diverse clientele.
Client Testimonial
As an immigrant and a mom, we really connected, which has been invaluable. I feel secure knowing my daughter is taken care of. I have never liked budgeting, but Irina helped me tackle the necessary evil, which confirmed that I was on the right track and helped me be a better saver by knowing where my dollars were going. Now I pay myself first. In just a year, we have achieved everything we planned! I'm getting everything I need!
Family
I met the love of my life, Daniel, in art school in San Francisco. After numerous years in California we recently decided to return to the Denver area to be closer to Daniel’s family in Boulder. Working together isn’t for every couple but we love it!
Our kid, Kay, is now an artistic teenager who loves to create and tinker whether with pottery or in the kitchen, and is also fascinated by biology, math, and politics. We continue to be impressed with teenage resilience and curiosity.
Moving to Colorado has allowed our family to grow with the addition of Ajax, our feline friend.
We currently live in the Aurora area of the Denver suburbs and enjoy traveling, music, museums, and being in the mountains whenever we they get a chance.
COMMUNITY
It’s important to our team to be involved in the community and support organizations making a difference. Some of the organizations we are committed to are Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank and Soar that supports an orphanage in Armenia. We are avid supporters of women’s rights and donate to Planned Parenthood for the amazing work they do. We are excited to get more involved in the Denver in the coming year!
