At the age of 16, Gerald knew he wanted to serve his country, and he enlisted in the military as a combat medic. Through the course of his 28-year military career with the U.S. Army, he served in command positions in multiple tours of duty including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. A highly decorated combat officer, Gerald retired June of 2022.
Searching for a more meaningful mission where he could directly help people, he joined Northwestern Mutual in 2017. As a financial advisor, he parlays both his acumen learned in the military and corporate environment to gather intelligence, analyze and develop a comprehensive strategic financial plan for each of his clients.
Gerald earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois. He also holds a Master's in Military Science from the Command the Command and General Staff College. He has state life, accident and health insurance licenses and is Series 6 and 63 registered.
Personal
From a young age, Gerald learned the importance of doing right by people. Growing up on the Northwest side of Chicago in a traditional Italian American family, he learned the importance of family, developed a strong work ethic, and empathy to help neighbors in need.
The lessons were a solid foundation to build a successful military career. Now, as a financial professional with Northwestern Mutual, his passion for helping others can be found in a firm committed to his client ’s best interests.
At the heart of what drives him is another life lesson learned from his father: the importance of saving. Wealth accumulation has become part of who he is, and he is proud to say he has done well because of this life lesson. He wants the same for each of his clients.
Gerald is married to his wonderful wife, Rose, and is the proud father of two sons, Anthony Luca and John Matteo. They reside in Elmhurst, Illinois.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, working out and cooking.

The Global Medical Foundation
Using his experience as a combat medic, he volunteers with The Global Medical Foundation, a cause disaster and humanitarian relief organization. Every year since 2007 he has traveled to the Philippines providing the gift of sight to thousands of patients in various locations. By providing a simple pair of reading glasses, you can immediately and positively impact a person’s life, the well-being of one’s family and community.
