Derrick attended St. Louis University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing. Derrick began his 15-year career with AT&T during college by working as a part-time sales representative. He quickly excelled and was promoted to a store manager and then to a regional manager. In 2015, he transitioned to Northwestern Mutual and has enjoyed working in the financial services sector. He had a great start to his business and achieved Pacesetter 40 and 60, which are awards based on achieving 40 and 60 clients in the first year of one's business.

While not in the office, Derrick enjoys attending St. Louis Blues and Cardinals games and seeing shows at the Fox Theatre. Derrick was recently married on June 7th, 2017 in Paris, France and enjoys spending time with his wife Courtney.

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
