Welcome to my world!
Like many of us, I learned invaluable money lessons from my family, who often warned against repeating their mistakes. My grandparents' VHS store, once thriving, succumbed to big-brand competition, limiting our opportunities for expanding our horizons, and I recall the struggle of navigating financial aid applications starting in elementary school. We would joke that the Owens were always "Owing," serving as a reminder to break that cycle.
Determined to chart a different path, I started working early, opening a Roth IRA and handling car insurance payments to grasp financial responsibility. Proudly, I became the first in my family to graduate from college. Family holds a special place in my heart and I’m thankful to be shaped by strong women like my mother and grandmother. These experiences taught me the value of long-term thinking, delayed gratification, and the benefits of starting early—a lesson I now share with my clients, beginning with retirement planning and working backward. One of my favorite questions is, “what is your money story?” because we all have one, and it plays a crucial role in our decisions.

Systems Thinking
How Engineering Mindsets Enhance Women's Financial Well-Being
As a former engineer and manager, I often questioned why we reinvented the wheel when I could see the bigger picture of our goals. While working in the energy efficiency industry with mission-driven companies and sustainable solutions, the joy in my career waned. Soul-searching conversations with female friends unveiled a stark contrast in financial confidence compared to men. Despite appearing to have it all together myself, I still had questions and felt insecure about my financial future and wanted to change that for others.
Those early experiences taught me how to problem-solve and use data to inform decisions. The same approach applies to financial planning - we don’t make decisions in a vacuum. I believe that neglecting to consider all aspects can lead to unintended consequences. My goal is to simplify complex financial concepts and work with you step by step to ensure clarity and progress.

Personal Life
Away from work, I'm a Connecticut native who found her heart in Boston, relishing its vibrant yet cozy vibe. Living in Weymouth, I revel in its blend of quiet suburbia and proximity to others, enjoying walks with my terrier mix, Tuffy, and indulging in workouts, reading, gardening, or attending concerts. My love for arts and crafts spills into home decor, where I find joy in continual redecorating.
