Dan Whelan has been a financial planner with Northwestern Mutual since 2005.

Dan works in the areas of financial analysis, estate planning, investment management and college planning, as well life, disability and long-term care insurance.

Dan holds multiple designations through the American College:

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)
  • Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®)
  • Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®)
  • Charted Life Underwriter (CLU®)

He also holds the Certified Advisor for Senior Living (CASL®) designation. 

Personal

Dan lives in Syracuse, NY and has three kids - Jace, who is in medical school at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse; Zoie, who is in high school and is an American Ninja Warrior athlete, and Payton, who is also in high school and is a competitive dancer.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
