About me

Professionally

I love people. My early career started in Christian ministry, but quickly led me towards the world of personal finance. I am now a Financial Advisor running a national private planning practice based out of my hometown Shreveport, LA.

I believe that our past experience uniquely qualifies all of us for the work we are called to do. With a degree in Bible & Theology from Nelson University, experience on a pastoral staff, and a life-long love of personal finance, I approach financial planning from a posture of humility and eagerness to help. I consider myself a "life long learner" both in my career and in life.

My practice primarily works with blue-collar business owners, medical professionals, and families w/ kids in the household. The majority of my clients don't need me. High-level, career oriented professionals find value in me and my trusted network of specialists.

Personally

I'm a family man. I am married to my beautiful wife and best friend, Kaci. Together, we have the most incredible 3 year old daughter, Harper. Harper is excited to be the proud big sister to her little brother in May of 2024. They are the reason I show up every day and my most prized possession. I'm the luckiest man in the world!

I'm an outdoorsman. Whether it's a day on the lake, miles deep in the woods, or in my backyard in the garden, I am fueled by being underneath the open sky. My list of interests are too long to list.. but suffice it to say, if it's outside fits the description of a "good-ole-boy," I've likely done it or plan on doing it.

I'm a musician. Music has been a part of my life since a young age. At this stage of life, I regularly play drums with my local church, tinker on the piano with Harper, and strum the old guitar.

I'm a hobbyist. Ask Kaci... I have way too many! From Bonsais to gardening, to fishing, hunting, fitness, backpacking, kayaking, cooking, woodworking, etc.

Lending a hand in my community.

As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)

ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.

When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.

Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.

It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
