I came to this career in a very surprising fashion – it’s nothing I ever expected to do. But my previous work as both a teacher and bartender, strangely, contained a lot of the same skill sets: listening, non-judgement interaction with a lot of different people and a focus on sharing what I know with others.
This transition being difficult my partner, Laura, made it a tad easier. We love living in Milwaukee (Bayview) and enjoy what the city has to offer but also spend our winters in Palm Springs, California where I work remotely. Like many of our clients, remote work has opened up opportunities that we otherwise wouldn't have had 5 years ago. We are avid travelers and have been to over 50 countries including India, Colombia, Senegal and Vietnam. We’ve also been to nearly every U.S. National Park. In addition, I love almost all forms of music and finding unusual places to eat or drink.
In this business my team and I measure our success when clients advocate for us to their friends and family, it always makes me proud of what we do. Nothing is more meaningful than a referral to someone who a client really cares about as it demonstrates we have done our job well.
Today, my team and I have the privilege of serving over 500 clients from different backgrounds, income levels and locations across 31 states. Together, we ensure that every client gets a plan and advice that is tailored to their best interests.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
