Brent’s Place is a long-term home away from home for children and families with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses while they receive treatment at local hospitals. NM Denver is proud to support Brent’s Place by volunteering throughout the year, where we will purchase, prepare and serve meals to the families staying at Brent’s Place. We are also committed to supporting Brent’s Place through its annual chef event and holiday toy drive.
Bags of Fun
The Bags of Fun program is a signature project through the Gabby Krause Foundation, which honors Gabby Krause who passed at the age of six from brain cancer. Bags of Fun was created in the spirit of Gabby’s original bag of toys and fun activities that kept her spirits up during treatment. Teams at our office support this project with financial contributions as well as assembling and delivering bags to local hospitals each month.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15. ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual has donated more than $20 million to support ALSF. Locally, the Denver office is proud to donate money that will go toward changing the lives of children with cancer.
Denver Post's Pen & Podium Series
Northwestern Mutual is a proud partner of The Denver Post Pen & Podium – a five-part lecture series featuring some of the world's most distinguished writers. Pen & Podium is an event of The Denver Post Community Foundation, which serves to improve and enrich the lives of those in our community through support of programs focusing on arts and culture, education and literacy, children and youth, and basic provision of human services.
