Nice to Meet You!
A little about myself:
Me: I grew up in Portland, OR, learning to appreciate the good coffee and beer that can be found in the pacific northwest, along with the amazing outdoor wonderland, which I backpacked religiously, with my husband and yellow lab, Thea. That was before kids, and before my body decided that it didn't appreciate sleeping on the cold ground any longer...
My Family: I am incredibly blessed to be the mom of two adorable, sassy little boys, Elliot and Declan. Never a dull moment with these two in tow! My husband, Ty, is on this exciting ride with me. I'm the planner; he brings the spontaneity. Our goals: raise good humans, do what we love, and never stop exploring. In 2021 we moved to Bend, OR and have been enjoying the exploration of a new terrain, with mountains, lakes, and the Deschutes River.
My Career: Graduating from Portland State University in 2007, I began my career with Northwestern Mutual in 2008. At that time, I was running an internal team, building financial plans for multiple advisors in the state. But I have always had a passion for building relationships and helping make an impact in the lives of those I come across so, in 2014, I started my financial planning practice. I love what I do and feel extremely lucky to have a career that helps people achieve their goals and capture financial peace.
Lending a hand in my community.
As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. We're changing childhood cancer, one research grant at a time: We are unique in our grant-making approach, having donated millions of dollars to support life saving childhood cancer research. With careful consideration and consultation with leading researchers across the country, we have developed our grant program to make the biggest impact possible. Our smart spending of your donations has translated into innovative breakthroughs, more access to new treatments, and a dramatic change in the landscape of pediatric cancer. All this leads to one very important change for children and their families—hope for new and improved treatments!

Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.

Children’s Cancer Association (CCA)
The Children’s Cancer Association didn’t start with a foundation, it started with a family. One who faced its own battle with serious pediatric illness almost two decades ago in Portland, Oregon. From that experience came a passionate commitment and focus: To deliver the resources, the friendship and the healing power of music to families facing the same challenges. Unlike many organizations dedicated to the worthy goal of someday finding a cure for cancer, CCA is all about today. We specialize on the moment, delivering immediate help to kids and teens facing life-threatening illness. We long for the day when there’s a cure for cancer; but until that day arrives, we’re there for kids facing the biggest battle of their lives who need our help, today.
Professional
Calling oneself a professional doesn't really make one a professional. As a Northwestern Mutual Advisor, professionalism is defined not only by the measure of one's experience, education and accreditation, but by one's character and professional standard of practice in supporting clients as a trusted financial expert.
Through personal commitment, professional associations, accreditations and continuing education, Kristie has worked hard to establish a reputation as a respected professional and to gain the trust of clients. Please take a moment to review my experiences and accomplishments.
Helping Create Your Financial Plan
For Kristie, being a great financial planner is all about listening to her client’s needs, and helping them refine their vision and goals. Whether she’s working with a business owner to create an efficient business plan, a family or individual discussing education and retirement planning, she brings her keen ability to ask the right questions and listen with an open mind. From that dialogue, Kristie and her team build a roadmap outlining the steps and educating on the strategies that will take a client from where they are to where they want to be.
Kristie’s favorite part about working with her clients is building long lasting relationship, seeing her clients achieve their goals and ultimately capturing financial piece of mind.

How Northwestern Mutual helps you live the life you want.
When people feel better about their money, good things happen—they become more confident and feel more secure. For more than 160 years, Northwestern Mutual has helped people achieve the financial flexibility they need to live more and worry less.
Being a mutual company means Northwestern Mutual reports to its clients, not Wall Street. They don't believe in chasing fads or taking undue risk for short-term gains. Instead, they take a long-term approach—both in the way we help people plan to reach their goals, and in the way they do business. This has served their clients (and mine) well through all kinds of economic ups and downs, including wars, recessions, even the recent pandemic.
It's why I'm happy to be part of a company that's in it for the long-haul and prioritizes clients over profit.
